- I am a gently aging boomer/hippie who has done many things in his day. I am an x Anglican priest and x bookseller. An intellectual self marginalized. Currently living on the edge seeking ways to transform a semi nomadic lifestyle. I do food at large public gatherings (music festivals) in the summer. I am seriously looking for land to work with others here in western Canada. Exploring several options. Also in the process of application to sponsor my boyfriend/partner from the Philippines to come to Canada.
- What I'm doing about Peak Oil:
- Have much I need to do.Seeking maximum flexibility yet heading towards life in a rural setting with others. Reducing distance traveled to earn a living in the summer. Moving toward being on land in a long term lease situation. Or communal purchase. Land to grow al kinds of things. Passive solar gain housing. Wood heat. Good insulation. Involved in community organizations for localization in this region. Starting with others a bistro/local live entertainment/discussion gathering place.
I am clearly not sure of where to put text to go with the photos I just posted, but here will have to do. I must go. The rice terraces of the Ifugao region of the northern Philippines. Been there for hundreds to 2000 years. Sustainable. yet HARD work. Talked to an elder of a village. His life as a child was hard. Very hard. Life post oil will be also. Let us have no illusions.
